Upcoming Workshop: Gond Art with Choti Tekam
🗓️ 25th July
Before our lands were divided by borders there existed a shared language: art.
Just as Australian Aboriginal Art uses dots and dashes to tell stories Gond Art—practiced in regions of Madhya Pradesh Andhra Pradesh Maharashtra Chhattisgarh and Odisha—reflects a deep connection to nature folklore and ancestral wisdom.
While both Aboriginal and Gond art prominently feature dots their meanings diverge. In Aboriginal art dots symbolize territory and the realm of dreaming. In Gond art however they carry a more spiritual resonance—shamans believe that body particles disperse into the universe merging with spirits to form new life.
This isn’t just a workshop—it's an opportunity to connect with the history and soul of Indian crafts.
